Washington Prepares for World War III – Pentagon is Concerned, a Military Conflict With China and/or Russia is Inevitable
The warning comes as Europe engages in some of its biggest ever war games — right on Russia’s front door. It’s a deliberate ploy, intended to remind Moscow of the consequences of its duplicitous invasion of Ukraine.
Half a world away, the “w” word was mentioned again yesterday. This time in an editorial by a Chinese state controlled paper. Said the Global Times: “If the United States’ bottom line is that China has to halt its activities, then a US-China war is inevitable in the South China Sea.”
China’s defense spending has tripled over the last decade
China has warned that it was ready to use military force if the U.S. violates its territorial waters. It would be the culmination of the Chinese and U.S. political, diplomatic, and military maneuvers over the last year. China has claimed full sovereignty over vast swathes of the South China Sea, built artificial islands, and established military facilities. It underscores how quickly and dramatically the military balance has shifted in Asia-Pacific.

The US President is discussing the possibility of sending artillery units to the hotly contested region – where China is said to be building military bases on artificial islands.
A senior US defence chief has said the plan to install defensive gun positions in the region could soon go ahead.
So, why are experts worried about a potential World War 3? China’s defense budget has increased at an average of 11% since 1996, narrowing the military gap with the United States. Harvard scholar Graham Allison says that its China’s defense spending has tripled and its economy has grown 10 times (in dollar terms after taking into account the strengthening of yuan) in the last ten years.
The Chinese-government newspaper The Global Times was even more blunt.
“We do not want a military conflict with the United States, but if it were to come, we have to accept it,” an editorial reads.
“The intensity of the conflict will be higher than what people usually think of as ‘friction’.”
Another newspaper, The People’s Daily, editorialised last September that Beijing should prepare itself for a third world war arising out of the standoff between the United States and Russia.

Early in May, the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation began one of its largest ever war-games. The naval anti-submarine exercise was designed to send a message after a series of aggressive Russian submarine incursions into the territorial waters of Baltic States such as Latvia, Finland and Sweden.
Last month, a number of Baltic State defence ministers issued a statement condemning Russia’s activities, once again declaring its old Cold War enemy their “biggest threat to security”.
Russia retaliated by highlighting the deepening relationship between neutral Finland and Sweden with NATO was a “special concern”.
Some 18 warships and submarines took part in the oddly named exercise, “Dynamic Mongoose”. It involved 10 NATO members and the otherwise neutral Sweden.
Meanwhile Billionaire George Soros explained his fears over the South China Sea tensions to the World Bank. If China’s economy continues to falter, he said last week, “there is a real danger that China will align itself with Russia politically and militarily, and then the threat of third world war becomes real.”
He was arguing for China to be allowed to join the IMF’s international currency market to allow the Yuan to compete with the US dollar.
Billionaire investor George Soros said on Monday he saw Russia emerging as a global power as the European Union collapses, in much the same way as the EU flourished when the Soviet Union started falling.

The US military-intelligence complex is engaged in systematic preparations for World War III. As far as the Pentagon is concerned, a military conflict with China and/or Russia is inevitable, and this prospect has become the driving force of its tactical and strategic planning.
Three congressional hearings demonstrated this reality. Senate Armed Services Committee held a lengthy hearing on cyberwarfare. Subcommittee of the House Armed Services Committee discussed the present size and deployment of the US fleet of aircraft carriers, while another subcommittee of the same panel discussed the modernization of US nuclear weapons.
The war that china is winning does not require sending Air craft carriers to Gulf of Mexico or the use of sophisticated EMP generation. Our greedy corporate executives are complicit in the defeat of the battle under the cloak of free market and capitalism. These corporations have no loyalty to any country and there is nothing American about American corporation unless these are handled or dealt with they way Russia and China are utilizing their business fight the fight.
Officials suggest similar weapons could be used in Eastern Europe to challenge Vladimir Putin.
The potential deployment raises the worrying prospect of clashes between U.S. forces and Chinese jets, which are readily dispatched to islands controlled by Beijing.
The Chinese government has already accused Washington of stirring tensions in the volatile region – and an increased U.S. presence could set the two superpowers on a collision course.
A war between the United States and a major power like China or Russia, even if it were possible to prevent its escalation into an all-out nuclear exchange, would involve a colossal mobilization of the resources of American society, both economic and human. It would mean further dramatic reductions in the living standards of the American people, combined with a huge blood toll that would inevitably fall mainly on the children of the working class.
Under those conditions, no matter how great the buildup of police powers and the resort to repressive measures against antiwar sentiments, the stability of American society would be put to the test. The US ruling elite is deeply afraid of the political consequences. And it should be.
